Hi all
I picked up a ADR rack with 2 F700 comps (early compex I guess) and 2 E800 EQs and in transit, all 4 transformers dropped out of the comps. They are slot in"gardners" BUT I dont know which goes where as they were loose. There are 2 varieties. cat no MU 7524 pri 150/600 sec 600 CT cat no mu 7530 pri 10k ct sec 10 k A pic here to see what model it is! http://users.tvcablenet.be/personal/...ctures/adr.JPG Anyone have these comps or schematics and could look inside and see which goes where??? Many thanks David |

There are 2 varieties. cat no MU 7524 pri 150/600 sec 600 CT cat no mu 7530 pri 10k ct sec 10 k One pair goes in one pair of devices, the other pair in the other, both pairs are probably useds as 1:1 transformers, i.e. without voltage step up or step down. That is what I would expect to apply if both pairs are for the outputs. One of them is then a wiser choice than the other, but it may have been about availability. IF one pair is for input and one for output, then the 10k-10k is likely to be the one for input and the 150/600-600 the one for output. Someone may know me to be wrong, but that is my guess. A pic here to see what model it is! http://users.tvcablenet.be/personal/...ctures/adr.JPG Hmmm ... that's an oldie ... Anyone have these comps or schematics and could look inside and see which goes where??? It is imo only in hifi lore that there is a signal quality advantage in using a transformer for short cable runs unless everything, electronics included, is balanced. You could possibly have some esoteric grounding issue that makes it relevant, but other than that I think you will get the cleanest sound by finding a way to bypass the tranformers and use unbalanced input and output. Read the manual for any equipment with electronically balanced in- and outputs you want to use this 4-device box in conjunction with.
