Hi,

I just installed M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 on my computer running
Windows XP. The machine has a VIA chipset with the latest 4-in-1
(Hyperion) drivers. I have downloaded the latest dirvers for the sound
card as well.

The problem is that if I play any music from Media Player (or any
other music app) the indicators in the Delta Control Panel are not
moving. Nothing happens. There are no errors whatsoever in the log
files and the settings seems to be correct (Monitor Mixer in the
control panel).

Now, if I play a mp3 track for example and go into Windows Sound
Recorder (under Accessories) and press Rec the sound starts! Does
anyone have a clue what might be wrong?

all I can think of from my experiance is if you have a onboard
soundcard already installed on you PC. you should disable it in the
system settings. having both can give you some problems. hope this
helps.

The biggest problem is your subject heading and choice of newsgroup. You
have a Windows problem, not an audio problem. Generally the cause of such
problems is user error, the under-estimation of how much attention must be
paid to the proper design and maintenance of a PC.

Control Panel\Multimedia\devices ... device selection.

happend to **** off bus drivers like Sugarite ("You have to use the
rear exit of the bus, not the front.").

If you have more than one sound card in the machine (for example a built in
car on the mobo awa the Audiophile), check that the default wave output is
to the card you've actually connected amp/speakers to.

Right, the solution seems to be that Skype was installed and somehow
blocked the audio. Uninstalling it solved the problem.
