Default Special Multicore

Hi,
I need multicore-cable with:
* 12x balanced & shielded mic
* 2x loudspeaker
* 1x mains power (with shield, if possible)

Who makes something like this?
Thanks for any link...

This is a bad idea. If you add mains power to the cable, you not only may
have problems with induced noise, but you will also have to meet a different
cable specification in order to deal with the EU electrical codes. This makes
the cable considerably more expensive.

In the US, doing this is completely against the electrical code, but I do
think it's allowable in the EU.

I don't think there is anything like this off the shelf, but if you can get
together an order of 5,000 feet or more, Belden can probably make you a
composite cable like this. Bay Cables will also do composites for reasonable
lengths like that.

You don't want that.

If you're doing a permenant install, running CM (mic level) CL-2
(loudspeaker) and power in the same raceway will not, in general, meet
code.

There are exceptions for things like elevators where the car needs
power, surveilance, and PA, and special cables are made for that.

If you're doing a traveling show, that cable will lock you into a
particular configuration, where the needs of one venue or another may
change your needs.

I never cease to be astonished at the variety of things I've had to do
to adapt a live show to a particular less-than-ideal venue.

It also strikes me as "Not such a Hot Idea" to bundle mics and power
together where an insulation failure is potentially lethal to your
talent. I always considered it bad form to rig things so as to put the
talent at needless risk.

Not to mention voltage drop in your power and loudspeaker runs.

My 0.01 cents, in constant 1967 dollars.

But if you're resolute about it, you might try contacting Gepco. They've
got more mixed-signal stuff and custom stuff than most manufacturers I know
of.

Gepco can't do harmonized power stuff, which is required for European
composite cables.

But it occurs to me that the folks who can do this sort of thing in German
are SAB, http://www.sabwp.com. Check out the SL806 as a starting point to
design around. Note that these guys are not cheap.

years ago in a small TV studio, the audio guys complained that the
Studio floor PA system, about 250w/ch, was sounding ****, and the amp
was overheating.
It was due to the speaker cables, running parallel to the line level
cables, and HF crosstalk drove the amp into oscillations!

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

Thanks for all answers!

I need this cable (only 15 m) for a "fixed" installation, where we
should be able to set up the powermixer as fast as possible at
different positions.

Typically, we don not need more than 30 dB gain with our mics, so
there is a chance that the system will not hum.
