Default protools second hard drive xp/pc

On sonar 3 . . I was able" in one click" ,have the recordings and playback
go to my second harddrive. On protool 6.4 le they want me to formatted my
second drive.I would lose all my other work ( I don't think so) .I just got
this program so I sure I'm missing a easy way to fly. I'm using a pc with
xp pro

Question: If I start a new session and I put the folder in the second
hardrive would the recordings and playback be written there ?
Question: there must be easy way in Options or someting to have my
recordings and playback go to my second hardrive without formatted my
second hard drive as told to do on page 17 from Digidesign little book
"Getting Started"

Thank you

Found that all a bit hard to follow, but are you finding that prodicks won't
running on NT/2K/XP or NTFS partitions ? Just get a real app, any (other)
app, and Bob's your uncle.

For a new session, just open it on your second hard drive. If its an old
session, just drag the session folder to the second hard drive. If it won't
play back or record from the second drive, open up the PT Session browser
and make sure your second drive is set for "R" (record) not "T" (transfer).

If your drive is already formatted, and I assume that it is because you were
using it with Sonar, then it will work just fine with PTLE no matter whether
it is FAT32 or NTFS.

More than likely you need to set your second drive type to "R" in the
session brassware.

Hope This Helps,

Greg

Ed,

Sorry about the mis-spelling of Browser as Brassware - I hit the spell check
button too quickly. With PTLE 6.4 running, the session browser is under
WindowsShow Workspace on the main menu bar. There are two columns in the
browser labeled "A" and "T". There is also a listing of your drives.
Across from each drive listed, click on any letter labeled "T" or "P" and
you will get a pop up menu allowing you to select Playback, Transfer, or
Record. Select Record for each drive.

Thanks,
Greg
