![]() No, I don't have a floppy disk that needs more respect. I have a project in the works that might have a companion CD if it doesn't end up being too expensive. One of the things I want to have on the CD is a self-extracting file that creates a bootable floppy disk. I have the shareware/demo version of Winimage which does just what I want, but when running the self-extracting file, it puts up a message designed to embarass me saying that since the file was created with teh shareware version, it can't be distributed. Pay $30 and the message doesn't appear. I wouldn't hesitate to register the program except for the fact that I don't ever expect to use it more than this one time, and I'm not sure I'd even sell $30 worth of CDs to pay for it. Of course I can afford it, it's just a matter of principle (Yeah, I know, it's like "I don't want to buy the CD since I'll probably only listen to the music once.") So does anyone know of a truly free program that will do what I want? Alternatively, is there someone friendly out there who has the registered version of Winimage and would be willing to make a self-extracting file if I sent you a source floppy? It's about audio, and it's not a copyright violation, so you'd be doing a service to (a small portion of) the community. -- I'm really Mike Rivers ) However, until the spam goes away or Hell freezes over, lots of IP addresses are blocked from this system. Rawrite is pretty much the standard for floppy images--not sure how they handle self-extractors, though. |

It's not too hard to roll your own autorun.inf if no other solutions present themselves. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...oplay_cmds.asp the 'open' command should do what you want. |
