This may be a moot feature, depending on what kind of music you do, but for heavy drum editing, you would like to be able to cut across all drum tracks at once, and do your moving, copy/paste, and crossfades to all the drum tracks at once (for the most part). Sonar can't do this. It can do it all but the crossfades. The only problem is you have to "create" the group each time by selecting what you want to cut/copy, etc. Being able to create an "object" would be nice. I have a basically purely analog studio 2" 24 otari at 15ips using dolby A mixing down to any medium. I bought a delta 1010 to play around with but thus far never used it. I have since the beginning of Cakewalk had their program again never really used it except for smpte midi stuff again until recently never used. I'm using a motu midi express. That should be upgraded to USB in the future. Too busy doing tracking of acoustic instruments. I figured that if a track needed to be cleaned up and not being an expert at punching in and out, (Of course I can record on another channel), I would have the option to transfer through the delta card to clean up a track and then re record it back on analog. A friend suggested that I buy an MBOX and use protools LE, but I'm convinced that getting a used HD1 core system is probably better than using LE. When I have several thousand dollars available I may go this route That being said, I upgraded to producer 3.1 and its in the mail. The specs said it will accept protools data. Would you reccommend an out board digital mixer for this program or just use the mouse and screen? Thanks in advance R. Morrow Purely Analog |
