Our HHB Burnit's tray pops back in unexpectedly before a CD is
snuggled safely into the tray. It happens at any given second,
unprovoked.

Oddly enoough, the same trouble is on my MacG4 87DP w/Pioneer 4x DVD
burner. Pops out, pops in, wont pop out, wont pop in....CD stuck,
Computer freezes...oy Vey!

Any clues?

Are you sure you are not slightly pushing the tray while it's open? I've done
this a few times before and it will automatically go in if you tap it to hard
as well.
