I Could Use a Little Advice

I have a very basic system. A Yamaha p-120 midi connected to my Win98
system.

What program would you suggest for an absolute beginner for simple
recording and editing? And transferring to CD. Something I can begin
to learn with.

There's so many, I'm confused. 'CAKEWALK' - 'SONAR' - 'ACID' - 'FRUITY
LOOPS' - ETC.

HELP!
