Would anyone recommend me a good, reliable sound card (firewire or USB) for
Windows XP or 2000 that works properly with Samplitude/Seqoia software. It must have at least 8 analog balanced XLR inputs/outputs, and 8 digital inputs/outputs. I intend to replace my MOTU card because of unstable work in Windows enviroment. Please, make it under 3000 $. Very grateful..... |

I've been using an RME HDSP Multiface (see
http://www.rme-audio.com/english/hdsp/multifa.htm) for the last couple of years with Samplitude (W2K and XP) and it has been extremely stable and reliable. I run it both from my studio system (via PCI card) and a laptop for location work (PCMCIA card). Both cards talk to an external box which contains the converters and I/O. That said RME has just announced the Fireface which is basically a multiface with preamps and runs over firewire rather than RME's proprietary protocol. You can read about it here http://www.rme-audio.com/english/press/ . Both way under $3K! Cheers, Paul "Malee" wrote in message ...
