We put our ProTools HD3 system online last Friday and I have been asses and
elbows learning the danged thing before I rent the room out for a four day mix project this Friday. I must say that the HD sounds way better than my 4.1.1 mix system from 7 years ago...although I do believe my Radar (w/classic analog cards) sounds better at 48/24. I am gonna a/b them with PT running 96k today but for my money the Radar still sounds better. The only way I'll be able to make this work is to use PT as a tape deck through the console as the mixes I have done in PT sound like crap compared to a straight analog mix....still. Overall I am digging it for the tool that it is. A helluva an editing device and when I really need that over the top smashed thin sound PT is known for I can have it! Yeehaw! Now I can get that "contemporary" sound of over compressing every single thing in the mix! Man, I'm so hip! Lol.... searching for peace, love and quality footwear guido http://www.guidotoons.com http://www.theloniousmoog.com http://www.luckymanclark.com |
