Default Rosetta 96K problem?

I'm having a hard time getting a clean signal when I record bass guitar. I'm
using a Demeter bass pre-amp into an Apogee Rosetta 96K A/D converter into a
Tascam DM24 then to Cakewalk's SONAR 3.0. I keep hearing a low level of
distortion in my recorded tracks. The distortion sounds like analog
distortion, not digital.

I'm beginning to suspect that my Apogee Rosetta's analog input stage is the
culprit.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Any suggestions would be
welcome.

Thanks,

Al Garcia
