What's a safe solution to clean patchbay jack bodies that are
completely disassembled? I am pretty certain that the bodies are brass. I would like to soak the bodies for a thorough cleaning without the added exposure to a corrosive or damaging solution. The jack bodies are from a Trident Series 80 console. Thanks in advance. Ozzie Bostic Sandstorm Entertainment, Inc. |

What needs to be cleaned off? If it's just an oxide layer, try just a Cramolin or Deoxit spray. If it is more gunk than that, try just using soap and water, maybe with an ultrasonic bath. Don't use 409 on phenolic materials. Other than that, 409 takes grease and cigarette gunk off very well. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

I was wondering how to clean an intact 80 series patchbay also. Can these deox
agents be used while everything is still wired if not what would be the best way to go about cleaning the patch points? thank RDS |
