As a side question, if I wanted to transfer 8 channels to or from my Radar to the mac via the Radar's TDIF out's through a TDIF to ADAT converter to the 828's ADAT in, can this be done without word clock? Sorry, I came into this one late. Be careful if you use the Tascam IF-TAD to convert between TDIF and ADAT. If you have it connected bi-directionally it gets into clock trouble. Since it does not allow you to select the clock (ADAT or TDIF) it will receive two clocks. The clocks, while being the same in terms of frequency, will be offset in the time domain and this leads to confusion. The only way to deal with it is to hook up only one side of the ADAT (either in or out). I guess Tascam saved a few cents on this one. Rob R. |
