Anyone familiar with this mic? I used one on a radio VO today (I was
pretending to be talent). It sounded really nice. If you have one, what do you use it on, typically? Steve King |

I just realized you have a KMS85, the S is for soloist so it's a vocalist
version of the mic! I have a KMS84 which has the cardiod capsule in it, a similar mic - also KM84's and KM85's. If you try to mic a bass with it you can unscrew the pop filter and use it that way, you'll see the gold plated capsule (at least mine is) inside is at no risk at it might sound better. S for soloist, that's interesting. I was working the mic fairly closely... no more than 6 inches or so... yet it still sounded very clean, no tubbiness at all. Must be the roll-off.
