Yes you can. I downloaded Arny Krueger's recording and took
a listen to it. While the choir is definitely amateur, in
both the good and bad senses connoted by that word,

Sure the choir is amateur. In the real world they are actually doctors,
lawyers, plumbers, auto workers, salesmen, housewives etc. They've been
practicing a lot more lately, and are now good enough that I was willing
to post a recording of them singing. Music is about fun, right?

There was no fun in that performance. It was grotesquely stilted and
unmusical.

Just a typical church choir. They stayed more or less on pitch and got
most of the words out. Of course, the arrangement isn't at all difficult
or special.

I thought that the accents, dynamics, choppiness, and regimentation
produced just a God awful result.

We all do different things Arny. I don't record, though
I have listened to thousands of recordings. My criticisms
are of the source that you selected. I didn't say anything
about your recording abilities. The resolution
on my generic pc audio doesn't lend itself to my
forming any opinions about your sound quality.

Yep Art we all do different things. You are content to sit in front of your
computer typing inaninities. I've got some music to make and then enjoy
listening to.

Make, or record? Is it as joyous as that uplifting experience
you afforded me a few days ago? Chompa, chompa, chompa, chompa...

I fear that most church choirs aren't even as good as that...

I don't record my group as such. We do get recorded, but not with
anything approaching the fidelity of your work.

If I ever do make a serious recording, I'll look into posting.
