Default Electrostatic speakers for $700.00

Now on E-bay for the bidding, ... but no one is bidding. :-(

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...3862 047&rd=1

It says Martin Logan CUSTOM Monolith III electrostatic speakers
and panels are NEW, direct from the Martin Logan parts department.

I understand that this panels doesn't really takes lots a power to
sing. It's a shammmeee I don't have an account.

Mmmm........I recall these to have about 85 dB/w/m efficiency.
That, combined with impedance dips of 2 ohms, won't leave you much
room to use an average tube amp.
I'd recommend at least a 100 WPC SS amp with enough current reserve
for moderately damped rooms.

They're at 700$ at this moment...............

Tubes are, of course, the way to go with these fine speakers. I understand
via
direct testimony from Dr. Richman who owns similar model that he uses tubes
amps at minimum power yet able to keep them panels happy and gay.

SS amps at 200w per ch, hey, everybody has one of those this ng.

They're at 700$ at this moment...............

I can't find the info. saying so. If you're right, well, I hope they make it
clear. I would assume though that it would cost an additional $200+
for delivery.

The seller has no feedback; he has just re-registered under a new handle;
there are no such things as ML "custom" Monolith III; the Monolith III is a
complete system, including panels as well as woofer coupled thru custom
electronics; the Monolith III was discontinued by Martin Logan in 2001.

So far, apparently you're correct. At least potential interested members of
rao knows. I thought Ebay sellers are legit.

I think, in general, eBay posters are legitimate. However, this posters should
not have advertised these as "custom Monolith IIIs", which are, as both Scott
and Yves said, different speakers. The Monlith IIIs consist in essence of the
panel used in the CLZ II speakers, a crossover (either passive or electronic)
and a 12" conventional woofer in its bottom section. It is unclear from the ad
whether the advertised panels can be run full range with a lower limit of 35 Hz
(-3db) as is the case with the CLS II full range electrostatics.

Okey, I wasn't so familiar with the higher models from M-L
ie Monolith vs CLZ

Yes, I presented it as the way it was advertise and I'm glad both gentlemen
caught it.

Assuming the seller's intention isn't to commit fraud, he/she probably meant
these speakers to be none other than the CLZ.

Waiiittt, I check again... these speakers could actually be Monolith cut in
half
with panels that is about 2 x 4 as it say !! along with what seem to me a
x-over
black box behind each panel.........LOL!

For that matter, audiophiles shouldn't take 'em seriously.
Their corp. HQ there at Cambell is huge and accupies several
blocks like Disney land with sexy receptionist. I envision Lionel
going there taking one as hostage to the rooftop.

The panels in the Monolith and the CLS are acually quite different.

Highley unlikely they could.

Hi there, Stalker!

Eh?

Yes, I've seen various items of soiled underwear which would make a
good lining for a gas mask I have, the innards of which have perished.

Soiled underwear? Ugh.
