This is all nonsense, with the exception of Randy Boggess. Dave Palmer can
take credit for that, McCarty had nothing to do with it. These are honest
people and good sellers, who have been singled out by McCarty for no
apparent reason. It would appear that McCarty is mentally ill.

A brief Brian L. McCarty FAQ:

Brian L. McCarty is an American national with permanent residency in the
Trinity Beach suburb of Cairns, Australia. He resides in the Coral Sands
Apartments complex, at 65 Vasey Esplanade.

McCarty was once a businessman with pretensions of legitmacy. After a string
of business failures, it appears he attempted investment fraud to refinance
his activities. He used these websites: WorldJAZZ.com (disconnected),
Coralseastudios.com (still up), and JAZZWORLDLTD.COM, a password protected
site, in conjunction with a notorious investment scam boiler room operation,
Benson-Dupont of Japan.

Most recently, McCarty made a complaint against Ken Drescher, alleging
zoning violations, from Cairns, Australia.
He tried it a few years ago with Ken, and has also targeted other sellers on
this group. While living in Australia, he files
complaints under false names with local police authorities here. Ken has
kindly reproduced one such complaint, filed under the fictitious name "David
Ellison". McCarty has used this name back to 1996 as a fictitious business
partner.

With one exception, we are not aware of any case where action has been taken
based on these complaints. A "complaint" is generally acted on by local
authorities only if it is made by a resident. However, numerous individuals
have had to respond to police complaints. Ken's wife was frightened several
years ago by such an incident. He's been complaining aboutDonald Winslow in
Portland, Oregon, for two years now without effect. The complaint was
dismissed, but Brian keeps referring to "investigation is in progress."

In other cases, McCarty has employed telephone harassment against
individuals.

In each case, we have assisted in clearing up the matter by providing our
full dossiers on McCarty to the affected individuals and to law enforcement.

It appears that McCarty's brain has some weird mental arithmetic going, in
that he accuses others of doing exactly what he actually does, which is to
misrepresent himself via fraudulent business enterprises. On this newsgroup,
his targets are people who sell audio equipment. In McCarty's scams, his
targets are investors with money to burn.

Brian L. McCarty's actions are not merely misposting from the newsgroup.
McCarty harasses people in the real world, by trying to have them arrested,
and by trying to destroy their businesses.

person from whom received and the day and hour when such purchase was made.
Such book shall be open to inspection by the chief of police or by any
police officer of the city at all reasonable times. A certified copy of such
daily records shall be made and filed before noon each day except Sunday in
the office of the chief of police.

We would appreciate your prompt investigation of this unlicensed business,
their operation of this business in a residential area, and any information
you might have on the individual conducting this unlicensed business in your
city/state.

THE COSTS TO BRIAN L. MCCARTY OF HIS BAD BEHAVIOR:



This is what mental illness does to a person.
The penalties for Brian have been substantial.
As a direct result of Brian's harassment, the following things have
occurred:

1. ABN Amro pulled their funding, causing Coral Seas to collapse.
2. His attempt to revive Coral Seas using fake identities was exposed, and
that collapsed also.
3. The "WorldJAZZ" scam was forced to fold.
4. Jeff Wexler keeps his distance.
5. His recent application to the Cairns zoning board was rejected, because
they "happened" to know what's going on.
6. Professionals in Cairns who once welcomed him now keep away.

I can't say I know everything that's wrong about Brian, but he obviously has
a couple of "idee fixe":

1. that what he does on usenet isn't picked up by the real world.
2. that posting handles, ie., sockpuppets are a shield.

Some have remarked that I appear to be almost as crazy as McCarty. Well,
most of us have little corners of irrationality, but this is what McCarty
did to me and my friends:

1. He put my neighbor, an elderly lady, in the hospital. Her husband was
near death in a nursing home, and McCarty called her at 2 a.m. every night
for a month. Every time he called, she thought it was the nursing home
telling her that her hubby had died. After a month of this, she collapsed.
2. He damaged my relations with another neighbor.
3. He destroyed Ted Lindblad's business, and called Ted's pastor and told
him that Ted was a child molestor.
4. He brought the sheriff to Ken Drescher's home with accusations that he
was dealing in stolen goods.
5. He got a man kicked out of his house in Dover, Delaware, on the malarkey
charge that he was running a business out of his house, because it was
packed to the gills with hifi equipment (isn't that dangerous! .
6. He infiltrated my film project and maliciously sent out messages to the
participants in my name, destroying my relationship with one of the
participants.
7. For six weeks, he used the About.com mailing lists to email-bomb almost a
dozen people.
8. Various other things.

So, to those of you who think this is a flame war, it isn't really. It's a
real confrontation that spills onto usenet.

It is strange that Brian is unable to comprehend that there are real
consequences for him, his wife Sandra, and his son, for keeping up this
behavior.
