This has nothing to do with whether one owns the original LP or not, but rather has to do with royalty payments that are added to consumer recorders and consumer blank media. So if you go the computer route, you risk turning your music collection into a heap of pirated cd's. Many do not consider that important, but it is a part of the current culture that you might want to know about. Carl doesn't know what he's talking about. For example, there isn't just one copyright law that relates to transcribing media. I do know what I am talking about. Please quote the copyright law that allows making computer copies of copyright protected materials. Or cite the precedent you seem to think allows such activity. Carl |
