Okay, I had it checked out and the price to fix it ($112) is more than it
would cost to buy another off Ebay. I am wondering whether I might be able to fix it myself. Apparently a capacitor is blown. Is this something I might be able to do myself? I know nothing about electronics at all, but I assume it would be a case of replacing capacitors one by one until the radio works again. I can always borrow a soldering iron. Any thoughts? I've also heard good thing about Henry Electronics, an authorized NAD servicer in CA, but I don't know their location, and I've never had any dealings with them myself. Can anyone tell me a) what might be wrong and b) whether it can be fixed at a reasonable price? I am in Los Angeles, so if anyone knows someone local who fixes old receivers/amps, I would appreciate an address or phone number. Dan |
