I noticed the other thread on this subject but my problem was not fixed by
adjusting the speed +/- controls. I have an old Technics SL-23 that is playing WAY too fast. Even with the 45 speed control turned down all the way Paul McCartney still sounds like a chipmunk. The belt has not been replaced in 10+ years, but could that really make it play faster?! I'm on a very tight budget and don't want to replace the belt if there's only a small chance it will fix the problem. Plus I'd like to have a direct drive table anyway, but as I said, money is tight so I'm trying to get this old one to work. FYI, on the front of the TT it says "Frequency Generator Servo"...I've read that a bad servo can make the record play faster, could this be the problem? Thanks a million guys! -- Jonny Durango http://www.soundclick.com/ratcitymusic.htm "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." -- Herman Goering, Hitler's Reich-Marshall, at the Nuremberg trials after WWII.
