Default Any really compact amps?

no worries... the part about the covers was dead-on!

bullcrap again... are you guessing at this stuff, or has someone
been spinning you stories?

Blaupunkt "buys" amps that use Tripath chips from a factory in
Asia ... the factory buys the chips from Tripath, or their parts
distributor. Tripath amps are a modified class D design, and
Tripath is a wholely separate company, nothing to do with Blade.
Tripath created and owns their designs, and they make chips for
what they call "class T" amps which use a digital conversion to
the input signal and then use that to steer the power supply for
better efficiency and a wider usable frequency bandwidth.

Blade was a brand owned by Indigo, a Canadian company. Blade amps
used a technology they called "BASH" which essentially was an
analog solution that allowed the input signal to be delayed long
enough to use it to steer the power supply rails so the amp didn't
have full rail voltage except during peaks. Very efficient, so you
got class AB sonic characteristics with class D efficiency.

They're still selling the stuff to home audio companies for
powered subwoofers, if you look around you'll see "BASH" specified
on the amp spec for a couple of products.

Yeah, I understand that Blaupunkt purchased/licensed the 'tri-path'
technology from Blade amps (from Canada) several years ago. The Blaupunkt
models can be removed from the plastic and installed without much (if any!)
ventilation...

Hi everyone...

Are there any tiny compact car amplifiers out there? I once bought I

think

it was a Nakamichi amp about 14 watt's/ch as I recall that was only a

little

bigger than a pack of cigarettes. Does anything like that exist today?

Thanks,
Monte
