Default Tascam US-122 and Eurorack mixer - static

The EuroRack has two buses, one called "sub" and the other is "main",
each with two outputs. Main goes to a pair of powered speakers.

My hope was to send the mic inputs to both "sub" and "main", and bring
the computer playback from the US-122 into a separate input module
(tape in) assigned to only main. Seems like this should be OK,
allowing me to use the same powered speakers for both the live sound
and computer playback.

One possible explanation I'm going to look into is that there could be
grounding problems that arise from having the mixer and the computer
powred by two different outlets.

First off, why have you chosen to send the recorded output from your US-122
back to the mixer's main output?

Maybe he's sending the US-122's output to a monitor input on his
mixer? That's what I'd do if the mixer was used as the control center
of the studio.

The US-122 has an output that's suitable for connecting directly to a
monitor system, with its own volume control, so the simplest hookup he
could make is with a set of powered speakers (or power amplifier)
connected to the US-122's output, and the mixer's main output
connected to the US-122's line inputs.

I'm not sure, mind you, where the static would come in, but
this could very well be a partial result of Behringer's notoriously erratic
behaviour.

I don't try to diagnose people's noise problems via newsgroup (or even
e-mail) any more. Their descriptions are often wrong and misleading,
and there are so many possibilities that the only way to find the
problem is to work on one piece at a time, starting with the simplest
configuration and listening with each addition until the noise
appears. People shouldn't need help doing that, they should just do
it.
