Try using an ASIO driver for your sound card. Direct X sound card drivers
are not the best way to go. Check out www.cubase.net for Cubase questions. "Zooper" wrote in message ... Hi all, I'm a late convert from Logic to Cubase SX, but I can't get the dang thing to work properly! For example, if I record a single track and play it back, the location indicator starts moving, but no audio is heard for about 3 seconds. Then, when the audio *does* start playing, it's obvious that what I am hearing is ahead of the waveform under the indicator. Then whilst I let it keep playing back, the indicator starts jumping to seemingly catch re-sync or something. It's all choppy and very f@#ked up.... Even if I generate a click on playback it jumps too!!! I never had this problem with Logic, using the exact same hardware. If I was playing back a 48-track 24-bit song in Logic and decided to instantaneously relocate the indicator to another part of the song with a mouse click, in a matter of milliseconds logic would be in sync and cruising! What the heck is going on?!? Please offer any advice on how to set up Cubase SX. I'm sure I've done something wrong coz I can't imagine Steinberg would release software that was so laggy!! My hardware (which works fine with Logic): 80GB 7200rpm Raid array dedicated to Audio 2GHz P4 with 500MB ram RME Hamerfall DSP card RME ADI-8DS Converters cheers, Zooper |
