I have a TASCAM CDRW-5000 that I use to make CDs from other media (right now, from RTR tapes) - and I can't find any CD media that it will work with any more - it works fine with older media but I just used up my last old CD - now what? any clues? I see the responses from the others, and I sympathize. I have a Lite-On DVD recorder that won't accept DVDs that record at any higher rate than 8X, and I can't find 8X discs in the stores any more. I went to VSA, a vendor that sells all manner of discs and equipment, to get some more discs. And I started shopping for a new DVD recorder. GAry Eickmeier Did you check for a update to it? I had a hp dvd recorder that was the same way. There was a firmware update for it that fixed it. here is what TASCAM had to say in answer to my inquiry - I will presume that the company's answer is definitive The CD-RW5000 was designed around the low speed media (4x) that was available at the time. Using higher speed media, the unit's operation will probably be intermittent at best. You may still find them online at some of these locations: http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/de...pno~954246.asp http://www.clubmac.com/clubmac/shop/...pno~954246.asp http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...075638-1914349 |
