Default Toroidal OT question.

Hi all,

I'm thinking of building a tube bass guitar amp (frequency response 40-10kHz
needed) using a toroidal output transformer.

Someone suggested using toroidals to me so as to keep the weight down (or
more likely, to squeeze more power out of the same weight) and also said
that a standard mains transformer would be fine. I've looked everywhere I
can think of for information on GOS toroidal core mains transformer
frequency responses but can't find that kind of information anywhere -
except plitron. They list the upper limits of GOS as being 2kHz which sounds
quite wrong to me.

Can anyone point me in a good direction to find this info?

Thanks.
