Hi,
I want to upgrade from my Aardvark Q10. It's a very practical card with good routing, volume knobs you can touch, mic pre-amps, D.I., and so on. I'm very happy with it except for some aspects of the sound. For instance, it has a poor dynamic range (read: hiss). Sound quality is about on par with a Delta 1010; so, not bad but nothing special. Anyway,I am considering an upgrade.I looked at the LynxTwo: less practical than my Q10 but the specs look great. But it's a card over two years old, which I think is a bit much considering A/D developments. Is there anything out there that can beat the LynxTwo on sound quality? I'm talking about PC soundcards, not standalone A/D converters. Thanks for your time. |
