In the real world they are actually doctors, lawyers, plumbers, auto workers, salesmen, housewives etc. They've been practicing a lot more lately, and are now good enough that I was willing to post a recording of them singing. Music is about fun, right? There was no fun in that performance. It was grotesquely stilted and unmusical. Just a typical church choir. They stayed more or less on pitch and got most of the words out. Of course, the arrangement isn't at all difficult or special. Stephen I thought that the accents, dynamics, choppiness, and regimentation produced just a God awful result. |
