![]() I have been inspired by the thread "speaker protection"; if anyone has not taken a look at it do so. I was amazed by the misunderstanding many people had about what "clipping" is in an amplified sound system.... I present a project that I am willing to orchestrate if anyone is willing at all to participate. What I hope to accomplish in this project is a series of weekly educational threads dedicated to a particular aspect of In Car Entertainment (ICE) and all things related. Electronic theory. Speakers. Imaging. Wiring. Ratings. T/S Parameters. etc. are just some of the topics which I think everyone should have a basic understanding of. I myself do not know what I should about most of these things which is why I want to do soemthing like this. I feel that all have an understanding here that education can greatly improve our experience reading and contibuting to this NG. I know that I personally would stand to gain from this if people are willing to contribute a topic. There is a wealth of information out there in classrooms, magazines, books, internet resources. But as one of the largest car audio communities on the net i think it is easiest to bring that information here consolidated and made available for easier discussion. So far I have had a good response to this proposal from some contrubutors on this NG. If you are interested in contributing to this effort or just want to are interested even in reading a weekly schoolin' session please feel free to email me at: (remove 'nospam' to email me) EFFENDI P.S. What is a good name for this thread. I was thinking about "Schoolin' on I.C.E." a play off of "Disney on Ice" type of thing. Let me know of something clever. |
