Is it possible to install 2 soundcards on the same PC?!: one for music production + Audigy for games?!

I was wondering if anybody has installed 2 soundcards on one PC, one
dedicated soundcard for music production (like M-Audio Audiophile 2496
or Terratec DMX 6Fire) + Audigy 2 for playing games. Is this possible or
will this give conflicts?

Having two soundcards in a computer is perfectly possible. I have a SB
Live (for the wavetable synth) and Maxi ISIS (audio recording/playback)
and an old Yamaha SW60XG for it's onboard synth.

However, conflicts are quite possible. My advice would be to search on
google newsgroup search to see if anyone else is using the combination
of cards that you want to use. Then check to see if anyone is using
either of the cards you want to use against your motherboard chipset.

Conflicts are still possible depending on how much other stuff you have
in your machine and how happy your cards are with sharing IRQs with
other hardware. You might have to do some trouble-shooting and move
cards from slot to slot until you find a combination that works
correctly. My guess is that it will probably just work.
