I've listened for a while, too. Got a feeling I was at the wedding party, at local restaurant, but with vocals turned down.

Actually, it's +4. I'm outnumbered!

Here's someone from another forum:

"Not my cup of tea, and only listened to the first song but I'd say your
vocalist is a bit overcompressed, peaking here and there and needs to
come up in the mix, and when she sings the big notes at the end sounds a
bit like she's in quite a small room.. bit boxy.

Other than that, the emulations of brass and strings sound a little on
the cheap side and a bit too obviously fake... whole thing sounds a
little top-endy for me.

Nice vibe though... bit of remixing and it will work a bit better..."

And indeed, the original by Selena has much more dominant vocals,
and a slower, polka-like swing.....totally different!

I'm remixing right now. Thank God for modern group channels!

Unfortunately, when you reduce the whole band, and increase the
vocals, you kinda have to re-EQ a bit to regain the balance you had
before...

Ok, I think this version is a bit better:

You folks were right. She sings quite softly in some
passages, and even with compression, it's hard to hear her.
But it's better now....Sometimes you need another set of
ears.

THANKS MUCH.

But I'm wondering: at about 2:34 of the first song, when
the singer does a bit of a cappella, you can hear some funny
modulation going on.

I'm not sure if it's the anti-aliasing filters not
working enough, or if it's some sort of intermodulation
going on, or perhaps standing waves in the microphone,
but you can obviously hear it when the band isn't playing.

Doesn't sound too clean to me.....
