Default Hard drive issues with pro tools

I have a pro tools 6.9 le system and I recently reformatted my comp.
When I go into workspace to change my secondary hard drive to a record
volume it wont let me. It gives me the error message: Drive cannot be
designated as an audio record volume because it is not an audio volume.
This problem is weird because it was working just fine b4 I
reformatted it. If anyone could help me it would be greatly
apreciated!!

I know nothing about Pro Tools (except I hope to one day have it) but I do
know a bit about computer hardware.
Is it formatted with NTFS or some other incompatible format type?
Like I said I have no experiance with the proggy but have seen where drives
formatted under WinXP as NTFS do not like to be put into other boxes.

You don't specify what system you're on, but this has been covered a
lot. Go to the user's forum in the Digi site (
http://duc.digidesign.com/ubbthreads.php?Cat= ) and do a search under
the category that applies to you.

PT is picky about how a volume is formatted. Maybe you reformatted to a
format that it doesn't like.

I use Mac OS Extended.

Check the Workspace menu: the drives may be listed as "transfer" by
default after a reformatting. If you have correctly formatted the
drive, you should be able to change the setting to "record" and it
should then allow recording.
