I'm considering buying this amp. Anybody have one? Opinions? Especially
about RELIABILITY, which seems to have been a big issue with NAD in
years past. Is it still?

I want an integrated amp with TWO stereo preamp outs (one would be
connected to MAIN IN), and both preamp outs affected by the volume
control -- also with a remote. So far this is the only amp I've found
that qualifies. Any other models would also be much appreciated.

On the occasions when I have had to take a NAD unit to my local repair
shop, the guy invariably rolls his eyes. Not only are they unreliable,
but it can be a pain to get parts for them. I think the basic problem
is that NAD contracts with factories all over the (third) world, and
you never know what you'll find when you open 'em up. OTOH, if it has a
feature you need...

The alternative is to go with a preamp, most of which have multiple
line outs. See the Parasound Zpre ($350) or the Rotel RC-1070 ($500).
You could add an amp to either without spending too much more than the
NAD. If reliability is a concern, I'd go with Rotel over NAD.

So you're looking for a preamp that provides two stereo output signals,
with the same program material at the same volume? Is there a reason
why a simple passive splitter (Y cable) would not suffice? Are you sure
that the NAD isn't simply a passive split with two sets of RCA jacks?

As for other models, the Denon 395 receiver provides two independent
stereo preamp outs with separate volume controls; switching and volume
for both are accessible from the remote. I've got one, and my main
complaint is that you can't set zone B to simply follow the setting for
zone A, they are always independent and if you want to switch inputs you
have to do it for both.

I haven't had any trouble with my C370 amplifier in five years or so,
but my C540 CD player has pretty much never worked properly. It's been
in for repair twice -- once under warranty, once, foolishly, not. Each
time the repair work made it work better for about a month. The C540
is the most expensive non-functional electronic device I've ever
purchased.
