Hello. I just purchased a Sony DTC-55ES on eBay. Sony cannot provide a
manual for the deck. Anyone here have a scanned copy of the manual that
you're willing to share?

Also, can anyone provide step-by-step instructions on how to hook up the
deck to PC to transfer files digitally? TIA.

Thanks, I tried there. They will reprint from microfilm for a hefty fee, but
there's no PDF available on their website that I could find.

By all means try servicemanuals.net; they have many service manuals and
I've had very good luck with them. Just checked - they have it..

They have the service manual, not the owner's manual, which is what the
OP is looking for... : )

I got the service manual, and someone emailed me an operator's manual. Now I
have to see if the head is frozen...I've found a service center near
me...trying to diagnose why caution light is lit.

And as I pointed out to the original poster, Sony service manuals
typically have enough "owner's manual" material so that a service tech
can verify and exercise all the features. In lieu of a real owner's
manual, a service manual will probably suffice. Unless he wants it for
a collection.
