Hello, goofballs:

Just dropped in for a second (still in the midst of home renovating,
which will include a second large AV room and system),

It is with great pleasure that I note your return, albeit how temporary.
Before you resume your important affairs, would you be so kind as to take a
look at the following website: http://www.jupiter-audio.com , and render an
apriori estimate as to the probable worth of this product?

Thank you for your time.

You know Bob, you've really got too much time on your hands.

I now think that you deserve the attention that Mr. McCarty gives you.

In military tradition it's not "fair" to shot an ambulance...

First we "lost" Ferstler;........

Can you say that............ I mean the "we" part?

So I thought that in the short term, I'd try to arrange a petty-weight
equivalent to the Tyson-Foreman match.

And you did this by making things up about Tratski's Return Policy yes? And by
guessing and assuming and attributing to him behaviors that are unfounded.
Perhaps these are behaviors from your own personal history yes?

As it stands, r.a.o. has conflict on every page.

Why then the need for your contrived "petty-weight match"?

Maybe you should return now to New Zealand.

Tor,
You think I'm McCarty?
If by New Zealand, you mean that I'm McCarty, call me at (215) 646-4894.
I live near Philadelphia.

With respect to his return policy, I do not dispute his statement of such. I
doubt that he has the money to cover even the return of ten pairs of
speakers, since $13,000 usually has immediate uses for an unemployed person.

Quoting from the "technical questions thread", Trotsky admits he is selling
the prototype:
" [McKelvy]
It sounds to me like the first prototype you produced is effectively
the final design. Is that correct?

[Trotsky]
Yes. The only thing I played with was the amount of insulation in the
cabinet. And wiring the tweeters in correct phase, of course.

[McKelvy]
How much tweaking was involved?

[Trotsky]
None, really. I know I'm supposed to play with crossover values and
port lengths and such, but the biggest flaws I found in the sonic
presentation were what I deemed to be limitations in the drivers
themselves. I think I got lucky, because as you know, I'm pretty
particular about sound. I'm kind of looking forward to dave's reaction.
Obviously he doesn't have any reasons to do me any favors, so I doubt
he'll fudge the truth."

Tor, you may accuse me of being overly critical, but my opinion regarding
Trotsky's enterprise is honestly given. He is quite literally a fraud.
Specifications were given on his website which he admits he never measured.

Consequently, it is my belief that his enterprise should end as quickly as
possible.
I do not hide the fact that I despise Trotsky as a person, as much as I do
Howard.

You love to play with words, you love to plot intrigues, you seem to

I don't know.
The pattern of exchange seems very similar to "Ridicule".
Each poster revels in the moment when his witticism appears.
A successful post is one which succeeds in ridicule without exposing to
counterattack.
By that metric, George is one of the most successful, perhaps THE MOST
successful, of posters on r.a.o. It is a shame he cannot redeem this success
for an alarm clock, toaster oven, or set of table napkins.

Arny, by contrast, is the Buddhist monk who immolates himself in Saigon or
Pnomh Penh. By some trick with flames, he manages to do it again and again.
Perhaps his current absence is a result of accidental burns.

I don't think George wants to own r.a.o. After all, what kind of Court would
it be, without fools to ridicule? That is why I invited Ferstler to dine
with us, but unfortunately, he seems to have declined.

Deceptive. What matters is both the last day I posted here, and the first

Irrelevant for reasons already stated.

Ooops, check that foot, Mr. Krueger.

You claimed I was gone for a "week". That's seven sucessive days. Sunday
through Saturday, for example. Trivial investigations would show I was off
RAO for more than seven straight days. Even more so if you look at the hours
when I posted.

You lose again, Weil.

Wrong again.

Anybody who called my office phone (well known, posted on RAO, posted on

the
web) got the straight story. So much for the quality of research by RAO
trolls.

You weren't here on RAO on the 13th? The 12? The 11? etc.

Deceptive. What matters is both the last day I posted here, and the first
day I resumed.

That's exactly what I said. You posted on the 13th. 6 times I note.
You have posted on the 23rd. So you posted in week 2 and week 4. Only
week three were you absent from RAO.

You lose.

Again.

You haven't been here *this* week?

Irrelevant for reasons already stated.

See above.

Ooops, check that foot, Mr. Krueger.

You claimed I was gone for a "week". That's seven sucessive days. Sunday
through Saturday, for example. Trivial investigations would show I was off
RAO for more than seven straight days. Even more so if you look at the hours
when I posted.

A week is Monday through Sunday (unless you're in France when it's
Monday through Monday, or 8 days).

You have posted this week so you weren't gone this week. You were only
gone last week.

You lose again, Weil.

Do try to check a few facts before you mouth off again!

Sorry, you lose.

Again.

Especailly for assuming that a week only has 7 days!

LOL!

Main Entry: week

1 a : any of a series of 7-day cycles used in various calendars; especially
: a 7-day cycle beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday

1 b (1) : a week beginning with a specified day or containing a specified
holiday Easter week (2) : a week appointed for public recognition of some
cause

2 a : any seven consecutive days

2 b : a series of regular working, business, or school days during each
7-day period

You lose, Weil.

Again, a little fact checking would have saved you quite a bit of difficulty
here.

I saw a French movie about "wit" in the court of Louis XIV. A minor noble
from the provinces comes to court to obtain funding to drain the swamps that
make his villagers ill. To obtain support, he has to become "witty", in the
savage way of the court. Do you know the name of this flick?

It was actually the court of Louis XVI, which is an important
distinction. Louis XIV was the Sun King, who epitomized absolute
monarchy, built the Palace of Versailles, and inspired imitators
across Europe. Louis XVI, well, he ended up with his head in a
basket. The movie is at least in part a commentary on the twilight of
a ruling class that valued its parlor games more than the needs of the
peasantry, so if that tells you anything about the flamebait you were
attempting to elicit from Ferstler and the public's understanding of
high-quality audio, maybe this excursus means something.

I'm not exactly agree with you, but just a few point. Please, allow me
to use your words because my english...
The people are evaluated in their skill in parlor games more than in
their skill in works.
You find the word "ridicule" in a famous Molière's play : "Les
précieuses ridicules", this one has been written under Louis XIV, the
subject is the same :
Who deserves glory and the fame?
- The one who has a lot of skill in parlor games, the one who is the
more "witty"
- The one who produces, who acts.

Bob just point here a particular aspect of the movie : the rule of the
parlor games. On this point I must be agree with him : RAO obeys the
same rules.
