Default Usher S-520 mini monitors

As a random fluke I was walking down a street in Taipei and walked into a
store with a bunch of speakers. They had several nicely tuned speaker rooms
and a bunch of testing gear against the wall. Looked like more than the
standard audio store. Then I saw a photo of Dr. Joseph D'Appolito with the
owner, and I asked what the relationship was, and they said that he designed
their new line of speakers. That's when I got really interested, and sat for
an hour and listened to about 10 speakers.

What a sound! I ended up choosing the S-520 which are a small mini monitor a
little bigger than the NHT Super Ones. I liked them because they were very
neutral and clean, didn't force the mids or pretty up the sound, and had
decent bass down to about 50-60. This is after a day of listening to
Mackies, Genelecs, Events, etc. Unfortunately they couldn't show me a graph,
but they sounded fairly flat. Then I asked for the price. NT$3900. That's
about USD$115. Wow.

Does anyone know what their real quality reputation is apart from the press
releases? Anyone buying the S-520s in the US or Europe? Any graphical info
or reviews on these little killer near field monitors? Anyone use them
before? Comments?
