Any opinion on the higher-end Yamaha line? The top end is the RX-V2500, aside from the $4000 ones.
The RX-V2500 is 7.1, THX certified with 130W, 20-20,000 Hz 0.04% THD and 1.0 uv FM sensitivity. I compared it with the Denon 2805 and then the 3805, as well as the Rotel 1067. It seems to provide better performance for comparable or less money. What is the opinion of Yamaha's audio gear? Thanks, - Russ in Santa Barbara |

Thanks, - Russ in Santa Barbara I'm still using a Yamaha RX-V1070 5.1 analog surround sound system (bought used 7 or 8 years ago.) It's built like a brick outhouse. I also have a Yamaha M4 stereo amplifier and a Yamaha C6 pre-amp. Same great quality (you should feel the weight of the M4 and the silky controls on the C6!) There is little doubt in my mind that my next 6.1. or 7.1 digital receiver will be a Yamaha (unless, of course, I get an offer I can't refuse... like "free". g) Disclaimer: no connection to Yamaha, my stage piano is a General Music PRO1 (not a Yamaha.) Cheers, Roger |
