It seems my options a leave it at my current 256MB, add another 256 to give 512, add a 512 module to give 768, or (most expensively !) buy 2x 512 sticks to give 1024 MB. Which is best course to take...is maximum RAM the way to go or do other limiting factors come into play with a laptop ? I'd be using it with 002 Rack or MOTU 828 Mk 2/896 HD type of interfaces, PTLE or Digital Performer type software. Thank you for your wisdom, Ray With modern operating systems (especially OS X) the answers a 1) All that will fit. 2) If that costs too much, all you can afford. The whole operating system will work better, no matter how many tracks you are working on. Mike |
