I am tired of these right wing kooks spitting on
America, trying to make every one into a white bread eating , instant
coffee drinnking, church going zombie that accepts any line of bull****
that is thrown at them

Your a troll! Admit it, get some help and move on.

Sorry George, if you had responded then you would have done so in THEIR
thread. "DEAR RIGHT WINGERS" is YOUR thread. If your saying "that right wing
devil MADE me do it"... then you are an even sadder troll.

As a supposed adult, your deportment is embarrassing. If you want to bicker
like 8-year olds, this group is not the place. Go find a nice chat room where
you can give each other the finger and play slap and tickle.

Sincerely,

Ty Ford

Ty, these are not normal times. People are much more keyed
up than in less dangerous or critical periods and wish to
discuss these very important issues among people they know
and possibly respect. Taking the discussion to a "nice chat
room" puts you among people you know nothing about other
than that they select those places for their political content.

It is the fact that this group is generally focused on
another area of common interest that makes it a more
relevant cross section with which to express and elicit
opinion and knowledge among those so inclined.

Were it not for the ease with which the off topic content
here can be ignored I would be much more sympathetic to your
point of view. When threads that start off with audio
content diverge to political or social discussion I think it
entirely appropriate to push the people involved into
starting an OT thread rather than continuing it there but to
try and stop political, social or ethical discussions is
just ****ing in the wind and not serving the wider interests
of some members of the little virtual society we have here.

Two things bob, you don't have to tell Ty about people being keyed up. He
is now reporting people to their ISP's for telling bad jokes.

The other thing is... There is no respect for ANYone elses political opinion
in this (or any other) NG.

nice try though.

Ty may not appreciate my posts on OT political subjects, but I doubt
seriously he's reporting anybody for anything, much less for bad jokes. Not
disputing you Paul, but it's just hard for me to believe.

Ty is really a good guy. Knowledgeable, experienced beyond many of our
efforts and with a history going back to the early 70s in his chosen field.
I assume that in some small way we could at least try to comply. Perhaps,
instead of spending all the time on the political posts, we at least stretch
ourselves to include relevant discussion on audio topics and perhaps some of
the political threads will peter out. Personally I try to drop out when it
becomes one or two people simply calling each other names. On a more recent
request, I am trying not to get involved, but this one is FOR Ty because,
even though I don't necessarily agree with him, he does have his point and
RAP is worth saving for audio. I do believe I'd rather see a
rec.audio.pro.saloon for the off topic stuff, perhaps other than BBQ,
Scotch, groupies and wild nights after AES.

But one thing Bob said is true, and I've expressed it before. Regardless
that we have been stepping on RAP's charter, I think it imperative that when
one discusses things close to their hearts, they do so amongst a group of
peers. Political pundits are not peers to anyone that has true desire to
work in audio such as those here. So moving to a political group is
somewhat akin to calling Dell for information on what's wrong with your
computer and having to specify, after an hour of answering dumb questions,
that you have 20 years of computer experience and you're looking for
specific information, to which they shift you to yet another person asking
questions from another sheet of paper. Moving to a political group means
taking on a persona that doesn't fill the gap. You may not like me, as
you've been known to exhibit, but at least both you and I have some level of
common background, and on topics that don't have us at each other's throats
could have us both giving support to others that need it in an expedient
manner. Apparently we just need to move more of our efforts back to the art
of making music rather than giving every minute in political confrontation.

And please realize, I am not answering this on a political basis, so don't
add it into whatever totals of my posts anyone is keeping about my
participation on such threads.

At the politic fringes perhaps, but party leadership has always tried to
distance itself from the Moore variety of propaganda, which is plainly
dishonest.

Oh please... this shows no understanding of past political propoganda.

Dirty political tricks through the ages:

1844 - One involved a newspaper story put out by the boss of the Whigs,
Thurlow Weed, about a traveler named Roorback who on a visit to the South
supposedly came across some of Democrat James Polk's slaves cruelly branded
with Polk's initials (a president could own slaves but he couldn't brand
them like cattle97 that was considered inhumane). Another involved an
attempt by the Whigs to demoralize leading Democrats; to persuade the
Democrats that the campaign was going badly the Whigs sent out a letter to
that effect supposedly written by some high party muckety-muck. Still
another involved the printing up of phony ballots; the ballots mixed up the
names of Democratic and Whig electors, which was intended to confuse voters.

1880 - the editor of the Truth, a New York scandal sheet, published a letter
James Garfield had supposedly written to H. L. Morey, the head of the
Employers Union of Lynn, Massachusetts, endorsing the right of a corporation
to hire the cheapest labor available, including Chinese labor. Garfield had
not written the letter. It was a forgery.

and on and on....
