Any recomendations on a CD pressing service that would produce very short
runs, something like 10-20? I'm concerned about the logevity of CDs I produce myself with my home PC. I assume something professionally pressed would stand a better chance of lasting longer. |

If you mean a glass mastered punch CD - its unlikely you'll pay any less
then what it costs to get 500 made. But unlike cdr's it would likely last a lifetime - assuming the manufacturer takes care with what they do. If its really important to you, its worth the cost. If you want a real pressed CD, the minimum run is normally 500 units, although it often costs just as much to get a thousand as to get five hundred. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. What about just using better quality blanks?

Well, you should certainly be using the best quality blanks you can get. If you have a way of measuring your error rate, pick the blank and speed combination that gives you the lowest error rate. But, don't expect anything like the longevity of a pressing. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

The audio-machine readability of blanks has dropped like a rock as speed capability has increased. -- Bob Olhsson Audio Mastery, Nashville TN Mastering, Audio for Picture, Mix Evaluation and Quality Control Over 40 years making people sound better than they ever imagined! 615.385.8051 http://www.hyperback.com |
