Really?

Kindly explain how....

In DETAIL....

Capture audio.
Convert to CD audio.
Write to CD.

There are a LOT of utilities that do this.

Or, shut your ignorant trap.

Yet you didn't even mention one, let alone one that can filter the audio
from a vinyl track...

Many. Record. Rec. Sox. There is a GUI recorder as part of Gnome. You
can probably even "cat /dev/dsp audiofile" if you want, and then convert
the raw samples to something else later with sox.

Capture is not the hard part. When ripping from vinyl, you probably want to
use some click-and-pop eliminator.

Yes!

That's the part the Linux advocates seem to be deliberately overlooking.
What program is there in Linux that is a "click-and-pop eliminator?"

Looks like GramoFile will do it:

http://panic.et.tudelft.nl/~costar/gramofile/

which I found among the zillions of Linux sound and music stuff listed he

http://sound.condorow.net/

There is some interesting stuff there, especially in the "unusual" section.

Many. I use gnoise. Sox, audacity, arecord, ....
to write to wav. Then I use gcdmaster to divide into tracks and record
to CD.

sorry--came to this thread late, but gramofile's a champ--revel in its
austerity and remember to run it in a terminal.

Man, you really know how to ask for help. But, being an ex-windblows user
myself, I fully understand just how using Redmond bloatware can totally
wreak your disposition. You are forgiven.

Anyway, I am a recent newbie to Linux and just in newbie mode, I have
downloaded more audio stuff than I ever thought existed, and far more
than I can even road test.

You ain't even looking, bro.
