I wonder if anyone has experience with the Sony CDR-W66 Recorder?
If so, I am especially interested how it sounds with standard pre-recorded CDs? I also understand that it incorporates a balance control and an equalizer. Can both of these be operated via the remote control for CD PLAYBACK? Thank you very much for your interest and consideration. |

For playback, it sounds fine -- but like a lot of consumer CD players these days, I find the fast-forward/rewind controls are extremely slow and irritating. But for just regular playback and track-advance, it's pretty solid. Recordings are fine, too. I also understand that it incorporates a balance control and an equalizer. Note that both the W33 and W66 also have built-in limiters (defeatable) as well. I'm fairly certain that even for record, you have to adjust those features at the machine itself, not by remote. I think you might be able to turn the record limiter and/or record EQ on and off with the remote, but you can't change them once the recording has started. --MFW |
