Default Opinions wanted: Guitar Players: Compressors: Keeley vs. Analogman

Hi Guitar Players,

Does anybody out there have comparison opinions between the Keeley
compressor vs. the Analogman? I've used the old Boss Japan blacklabel CS-2
for years, and I like the diminished high end for what it is.

Now I'm looking for a more transparent sound, and these two seem to be the
popular contenders.

Thanks to any who reply, and please point me in the proper direction if this
is an incorrect topic for this forum.

Not necessarily an incorrect topic for this forum, but perhaps an even
better place to get more guitar-specific opinionc might be rmmg
(rec.music.makers.guitar), where you'll find guitar gearheads aplenty.

Personally, though, I like the Aphex Punch Factory.

Don't know those two at all, but the TC Compressor is pretty cool in the
transparency direction. It also includes a simple noise gate, a very sweet
sweep EQ, & a useless on/off distortion mode. Sustain is great, although it
alters the attack in a way you may or may not like.

Boss CS-3? It's what I use, some of what you're used to and more high
end that's also adjustable with the tone control.
