Hello all,
Just one of my Little Question.. Here it is: What is your prefered music album (CD or LP). You know that's the one that you will bring with you on a desert island. Of course this desert island must have electricity so you can use your Hi-Fi gear. ![]() |

I would have a hard time with that, but taking this logically, it would probably be Scritti Politti's "Songs To Remember", for me. Because as advertised, they are songs to remember. I bought it when it first came out, and its the only album from that period that I still listen to today. Its full of style, depth and soul. It has a bit of everything; jazz, funk, reggae, soul, pop, you name it. I have both the original LP and the original CD version, and of course, it would be the LP version for me. I've compared the two and there's no contest as to which is superior and more faithful and accurate to the original sound of the music. |

With those three I could like on a desert island, so long as my hut had walls and electricity. But wait, where's Beethoven? Where's Mozart? Where's the Beatles? Where's Louie? Where's...... |

And I'm a cat-lover. Enough said? 2) "The Harry Nilsson Anthology" on CD To my mind, perhaps the most underappreciated and creative pop/rock musician in the US over the last fifty years. Wears better than the Beatles, and that's saying a lot. Besides, I get to slip in two disks, this way..... :=) 3) "The Verdi Requiem" via Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra and Temple Choir on 7-1/2" open reel tape. Sublime and uplifting music and a superb performance. I never get tired of it. With those three I could like on a desert island, so long as my hut had walls and electricity. Weather Report - Mr Gone 1978. Because of Pastorius (Punk Jazz!), Zawinul and Shorter. J.S. Bach - Brandenburgse Konzerte - Harnoncourt, 1994. Because Bach done by Harnoncourt brings tears to my eyes. Faure - Requiem - Tilson Thomas. Might not be the best performance, but it's the only one I have. Hello all, Just one of my Little Question.. Here it is: What is your prefered music album (CD or LP). You know that's the one that you will bring with you on a desert island. It would have to be something that's on my digital music player. That's where I keep my favorite music. Hmm, Eagles, Toscanini, Joel, stuff I recorded... |
