Default Question for Mike McKelvey

Did you listen to Arny's recording? What did you think of
the material? What did you think of the performance?
Is that your idea of music?

Thanks Richman for admitting that such opinions that will be granted by your

Arny Krueger must be given credit for making one of his
recordings available. I shall listen to it with interest. For
comparison, Mr, McKelvy, you can download MP3s of my most recent
choral recordings at
http://www.cantusonline.org/Store/CJ1Track.htm by clicking on
the song titles with the loudspeaker symbol next to them.

Apparently, you can hear papers rustle and chairs squeaking.

Heck, I can hear that on a Ron Sexsmith song, but the music is
actually listenable. And that particular Ron Sexsmith album was
recorded in analog, so I don't know what the big deal is.

Yes you can. I downloaded Arny Krueger's recording and took
a listen to it. While the choir is definitely amateur, in
both the good and bad senses connoted by that word, I must say
that there is a refreshing "live," unprocessed quality to the
sound.

Only, I think, that the recording is "honest," without having
the life sucked out of it by over-zealous editing.

Sure the choir is amateur. In the real world they are actually doctors,
lawyers, plumbers, auto workers, salesmen, housewives etc. They've been
practicing a lot more lately, and are now good enough that I was willing to
post a recording of them singing. Music is about fun, right?

Here's a challenge - guess the size of the group.

However, no chairs were present, and the choir wasn't seated. They were
standing in the midst a really robust set solid oak pews that are firmly
bolted to a concrete floor in a church balcony.

I must say that there is a refreshing "live," unprocessed quality to the
sound.

Thank you. However, I will make no claims about the recording being
unprocessed.

You must have learned your search techniques from Arnold Krueger.

I got this listing from Yellow.com:

Richman Bruce J PhD
3...
North Miami Beach, FL ...

Address deleted manually by me because this is RAO, after all.

Is there a city in California called Zyprexa or Risperdol? Those were 2 of his

Sounds like a good recording of an amateur choir.

No, just offering my opinion. Seems you can't tell the difference.
I am not calling the performance bad by invoking objective
measurements of it. I am saying it is bad because the performance
irritates me rather than inspires me. Gospel music is supposed
to be inspirational.

Given the presenting symptoms, such an oversight would constitute medical
