22 kHz suffices for their frequency range, unless your hearing, and the
recording, are both *quite* remarkable.
Or you're a 12-year-old child. I guess that's unlikely. :-)
Brian Moore says "young children can often hear tones as high as 20
kHz." Zwicker and Fastl reckon that even by the age of 20 the limit
above which no sensation is produced is between 16 and 18 kHz,
provided that the subject has not already been exposed to sounds with
levels that produce a hearing loss. I wonder how often that happens
these days...
