Default RAP5 Review

Well, how is it that you ask whether people had more time for those distant
CD compilations, since they were before 9/11? We didn't do 3 for quite some
time after 9/11 although it was scheduled for during that time frame
(actually I think we started in November), and Scott's RAP LP is number 4.

The thing is that there's so much talent here, and yet, all of us are trying
to figure out a way to build within the new environment. Less groups have
the money for demos, less demos, less moving on to a CD project. I'm
constantly calling on my list of old clients to see if there's anything I
can do for them. My new clients seem to be ones that will stay, but if
one's not proactive then one isn't going to get the jobs, or it will take a
lot longer for them to decide. Lately I've been hitting some small local
venues on open mic night. Conversations have proven somewhat lucrative and
yet I'm not really chasing ambulances, I'm offering a real live person at a
gig, not an engineer on the phone.

I got a call yesterday from TV John Langworthy (gee, find out about him on a
google search), and I'd have to say I'm not inclined to participate but then
there's this stupid part of me that says, "I can do something about that".
He's either fricking whacko or he's a true seer. I tend to lean towards the
former.

He's on Soundclick.com with a search of John Langworthy, if anyone's
interested. It's so corny it's musical porn, but it's not really about that
at all.

Listening time, outside of listening when working.

If the folks here spent half as much time listening to RAP5 as they did
trading flames about politics and economics, they'd have worn out their CD
players by now.

Did people have any more time when RAP1 and RAP2 came out? I seem to
remember that their was more commentary on the music and less on politics
back then. Of course, I also remember walking barefoot through the snow to
school, uphill both ways, so maybe memory IS the first thing to go.
