Why do you seek the punishment you get here? What need can it possibly serve?
Like I've said before, there's a pathology for people who come on the
Internet to anonymously attack others and then fail to disappear when
they've been outsmarted at every turn. Masochism is certainly a
component, but a better analogy is the beaten dog who is still loyal
to his master because at least he's paying attention. When we
acknowledge CISG, he spins and sputters and shouts the same inanities
over and over for a few days like Pavlov's (beaten) dog.
The pathology, of course, is people like him do not have a satisfying
personal life. If you like your job, if you have satisfying
interpersonal relationships and if you have interests and talents,
then you're not running around on the Internet and attacking perfect
strangers. If any of us spent a day in CISG's shoes, I'm sure we would
have nightmares for the rest of our lives.
