Thank you. Somehow I was under the impression you had
cabled your computer
to your hifi system. Next up, I'm going to do some
experimentation with
the Core Sound Tetrahedral mike, which, supposedly can
be processed into
fine surround mixes. Your impressions will be
particularly valuable, given
that you have a symmetric speaker arrangement.

Hi Bob -

No, I'm a holdout about wiring it up. I'm not opposed to
it, it's just that
the system is one place and the computer another and I
have had lots of
other priorties than a slingbox. I'm thinking about
upgrading my computer,
and if I do I may take my current Shuttle box and make it
part of the audio
system (although I currently am out of shelf space).

Harry, re-think about the computer. Whether you use it as
a primary source (as I do) or not, you may be shocked at
how convenient it is, and how much more it may enable yo
to do.

Agreed. I use a cheap HP laptop fitted with a professional
grade soundcard (EMU1616M) and then to an excellent DAC. So
I have all my music (and music videos) stored on network
HDs. I can also play various hi-rez sources as well (I
ripped all my DVD-A 2ch to HD as well) up to 24/192.

It is singularly the best thing I have ever done.

Cheers TT
