Korngold was a brilliant composer, and as a child
prodigy greatly impressed Gustav Mahler. By his
early 30s he had composed several operas in the
grand Wagnerian style, and was a professor at
the Vienna State Academy.

He emigrated not only to America but to Hollywood,
where he became a film composer of some stature.

Yes, I know his two best known operas, and his F# Symphony. Very
interesting music!
