OK, let's start discussing audio

The question is, what topics are "OK" to discuss?
Vinyl? No.
I think that realistic factual discussions about vinyl are good fun.
Turntables? No.
Why not?
Cartridges or stylii? No.
What's wrong with that?
Wire and cables? No.
Again, does anybody have anything interesting to say about them?
Amplifiers? No.
Been there, done that and just lately.
Preamplifiers? No.
???????????
Tubes? No.
I'm still having fun over in RAT.
CD/DVD players? No.
Huh?
Ready-made room treatments? No.
What's wrong with Real Traps?
SACD/Blu-Ray, etc.? No.
They were fun while they lasted.
Stereos costing more than a few hundred bucks? No.
How does one get a decent one for less than that?
Any audio review that does not include DBT? No.
Note that I recently cited an amplifier review that was DBT-less.
I say, if it's audio, I want to hear it. ****y fits that
result are completely acceptable, at least in comparison
to the political/racists/adhominem rants that have made
this a parody of a newsgroup.
OK, the OT was lame, but it was the lack of intelligence shown in the
actual discussions that were the nails in RAO's coffin.
Let's face it: discussions about audio just don't have
the drama and color of sticking it to a maniac.
Speak for yourself. I'd rather have no maniacs.
By comparison, audio is a dainty pleasure.
Done right, audio is anything but dainty. Too bad we have people around
here who don't want to get their hands dirty, or even do much work.
My sympathies are with you, and Art, and George, and
Jenn.
???????????
But the guys you're trying to get are like steam
engines. They don't have any spark; they will just ride
their rails till the ends of their lives. You can't get
any juice out of them. Taunting them is like daring the
old 4x6x4 to leave the tracks. It ain't gonna happen. And
it's boring. I think everyone else has tuned out.
The reason for the mass exodus was the sort of bilge that Art, the Middiot
and ****R still grind out. There might be hope for Jenn, if you can get her
mad enough so that she actually starts to think.
